Living Legacies

Everyone has a story
worth keeping.

Living Legacies preserves the stories, voices, photographs, recipes, traditions, and little details that make someone who they are, all in one personalized digital home.

A life, gathered with care.

Sacred Passage meets with the person whose story is being preserved and/or the people who love them for up to three guided interview conversations.

We listen, ask thoughtful questions, transcribe the conversations, shape them into a written story, gather meaningful photographs and keepsakes, and build everything into a personalized Living Legacy webpage.

A complete Living Legacy is $550.

This includes up to three guided interview conversations, transcription, writing and editing the story, a personalized Living Legacy webpage, photographs, recipes, handwriting, letters, prayers, videos, voice recordings, family and friend contributions, and other meaningful pieces a person or family would like to preserve.

Finances will never be a barrier to preserving someone’s story. Sliding-scale and no-cost options are available through Sacred Passage.

QR memorial options are also available. A Living Legacy can be connected to a digital QR code, weatherproof gravesite stake plaque, memorial display, or keepsake for the home, linking directly to the person’s Living Legacy page.

Talk with us about a Living Legacy ↗

More than a biography.

A Living Legacy is not meant to read like an obituary or a list of accomplishments. It is a place for the pieces that make someone recognizable: the way they laughed, the recipe everyone asked them to make, the phrase they always said, their handwriting on an old card, the song they danced to in the kitchen, and the stories the family never wants to forget.

The ordinary things matter, too.

The story can keep growing.

Family and friends can contribute their own memories, photographs, stories, and other meaningful pieces. One person’s story does not have to come from only one voice. A Living Legacy can become a collection of the many ways someone was known and loved.

A doorway back to their story.

A Living Legacy can be connected to a QR memorial at a gravesite, memorial space, funeral or celebration-of-life display, or in the home.

Someone can scan the code and be taken directly to the Living Legacy page, where they may hear that person’s voice, watch them dancing or laughing, see photographs, read family stories, and return to the life behind the name.

Scan the memorial. Hear their voice. See their life. Return to their story.

Options may include a custom digital QR code, weatherproof gravesite stake plaque, keepsake memorial plaque, or other custom memorial displays. Gravesite options may depend on individual cemetery guidelines.

How it works.

1. Start with a conversation.
Reach out to Sacred Passage and tell us a little about the person whose story you would like to preserve.

2. We plan the interviews.
Together, we decide who should be included and which stories, memories, and materials matter most.

3. We listen and gather.
Sacred Passage conducts the interviews and gathers photographs, recipes, letters, handwriting, videos, voice recordings, and other meaningful pieces.

4. We build the story.
The conversations are transcribed and shaped into a written story, then brought together on a personalized Living Legacy webpage.

5. The family reviews it.
The family has an opportunity to review the page, make corrections, and add anything that feels important.

6. The Living Legacy is shared.
The finished page can be shared with loved ones, connected to a QR memorial, and returned to for years to come.

Whose story do you want to keep?

Living Legacies can be created for a parent, grandparent, spouse, friend, family member, or anyone whose story matters. Some families begin while their loved one is still here. Others begin after a death with the stories and materials they already have.

There is no perfect time and no perfect way to begin. Sacred Passage will help guide the process.
